Not one...but two language barriers.

One of the things we are really focusing on this week is a program for the kids. Everyday for two hours from nine to eleven the kids meet at the church. We split them up into two groups. One group is the older kids and the other are the younger kids and most of their moms. We usually start with some sort of craft and end with a few games. It is has been a real success although it has not been easy. We have discovered that the women and children do not speak much Spanish at all. They pretty much speak as much as I do. Thank goodness the men speak Spanish. In order to communicate to the people I have to speak to someone who speaks English and then they have to translate it into Spanish and then the other person has to translate it into Nivacle. It's been rough, but I have learned to be a lot more patient. I have noticed the people are really starting to trust us.
